This  netsuke handcarved from natural material of Africa is rather old,standing 1 3/4 inches tall,1 1/4 inches wide and 3/4 inches thick of good material ,you can see the fine grain lines on the piece,it does show its age by the yellow tone but no crack or chip ,in fact it enhances its beauty of a Japanese demon with snarling teeth,wide nostrils and haunting eyes,and clawed fingers and feet,all the attributes of a good demon/devil.

It has long straight hair,its finger nails and toe nails are like claws,it is placing one hand behind him,wonder what it is hiding from us?It is sitting on a cushion carved from the same material,artist signed on the bottom and there are 2 holes for you to turn it into a pendant or wear it with your kimono.
