Genuine Japanese woodblock print by Chikanobu,part of the series called '24 Examples of Filial Piety',signed and sealed by artist,circa 1891(Meiji year 31),size is 14 x 9 1/4 inches. Impression,colors and condition all good,Meiji backing . This is part of the Chinese 24 filial piety series which honored the 24 men/women who made sacrafice to serve their parents,in this particular print,you see a mother with her children ready to breastfeed the toddler,but in the inset,you see a woman offering her breast to the elder while the child is being neglected.
