Hatsune Miku's image was created by an artist named Kei, and her voice was provided by YAMAHA Corporation's Vocaloid 2 engine using samples from voice actress Saki Fujita. The idol already performed 'live' for the first time in August at the Animelo Summer Live 2009 Re:bridge concert. That concert used a screen installed at the back of the stage to project Hatsune several stories tall before a standing-room-only crowd of 25,000. She also performed in Singapore during the Anime Festival Asia 2009 event last month.
