Vintage WWII Japanese Porcelain Doll. This beautiful vintage doll is made of bisque porcelain and is fully moveable with pin-and-rope joints at the neck, arms, and legs. She is approximately 16 and 1/2" long. Her sleeping eyes fully open and close on both sides. She does not appear to ever have had eyelashes.

All pieces of her outfit are intact and include a pink undershirt, white underslip, kimono and obi (sash). Her kimono is hand-painted with silver and gold accents. Her hair is intact and is pinned up in traditional Japanese fashion. I was told by the original owner that this piece was brought back from WWII by a family member.

There is some slight chipping of the fingers and toes, with one finger missing on the right hand, and two cracks on either side of the neck which are hidden by her hair. These are the only issues with this piece, which is remarkable given its age. Overall, she's in very good shape.
