This auction is for a 1947 Antique AM-FM Shortwave Radio / Phonograph described below:

Precision Built by Scott Radio Laboratories Inc., Chicago Illinois - Model 800B.  There is a legible serial number 800 258.  The STANCOR Company made the Power Supplies and is engraved as such.  The radio still has the radio call signs in the "push buttons" as follow:  WHLD, WBEN, CFRB, WEAF, WICC, WBNY and WKBW (most of these stations were or are from the New York and Connectiuct area.  The speaker was made by Jensen and has the following numbers on the speaker itself:  85B490 JAF C4538 and 220614 Jensen Dynamic.  The phonograph is made by GARRARD Swindon, made in England.  The white center piece reads as follows:  Gramaphone Stroboscope, view under and A.C. light source - 60 c/s, outer band 16 2/3 rpm, second band 33 1/3 rpm, third band 45 rpm, Inner Band 78 rpm.  As an AMAZING Bonus - we found an original replacement needle that has the following information on it:  Flame Polished Sapphire Full Jewel Phonograph Needle, in what appears to be the original case, and from examination in appears that an actual sapphire has been used as the needle tip.  There is a replacement record arm head as well with all wires intact.  Lastly, there is what appears to be some type of receipt/ticket stub with the following information:  No. 35174 and a few screws, nuts and bolts tapped and wrapped up in a little plastic bag.  We have NOT attempted to power this radio up (simply due to its age and the possibilies of doing massive damage to what may still be working pieces)  We believe all parts to be original.  It appears to have all the electrical cords, although they are fraying in some places, and one of the plugs has a bent receptacle.  The top has scratches and marks from what appears every day use.  The front left corner has a good deal of wear (as you can see in the pictures attached).  The feet and sides only show minor wear.  We are not professional antique dealers, but as you can see in the photographs, this antique could be restored to almost mint condition.  The pictures you see are of the actual radio you will recieve, this is NOT a stock photo!

We make NO GUARANTEES about anything with this AM/FM Shortwave Radio, IT IS WHAT IT IS and you get what you see!  We know pratically nothing about it, except what we have learned from internet research and have shared that information with you above.  If you have any information about this radio, we would love to hear from you.  We honestly have to clue as to the value of this radio, we may be asking way more than it's worth or much less (so if you are interested, go ahead and make us offer of any amount) once again if you have any clue as to what it's value is, we would love to hear from you.
