AD 719 to 756
Her name is Yang Yu Huan.
She was known as one of the "Four beauties of China", and was one of the consorts of Emperor Xuan Zong of Tang. She was Xuan Zong of Tang's daughter in law, but when he first saw her he fell in love with her and took her from his son. She was gifted in arts, and was an excellent dancer and singer. One of the most famous Chinese poets wrote a poem about her describing her entire life. This poem is called "A song of everlasting Sorrow". The Emperor loved her so much, that it was said he gave the love of 3000 people just for her. All his other concubines seemed colourless in comparison to Yang Yu Huan. When she would go outside, the flowers would close because they felt they were not beautiful enough to be in her presence. When she became concubine, all her relatives became very important officials, and her sisters gained nobility. In her presence, the Emperor often neglected his duties and would wake up late. The officials, and the Emperor's son believed that Yang Yu Huan's brother was rebelling against them. In AD 756, they killed her in order to kill her brother as well. When she was killed, she was just 38 years old. Many Operas, stories and T.V programs are based on Yang Yu Huan's life. More information can be found on her by searching "Yang Gui Fei" which is translated as "Imperial Concubine Yang".
