This is a delicate annual flower that blooms from May-July. Flower color is pink and red and is made up of four fan-shaped petals.

It can grow up to 1 ½ feet tall. Likes full sun or part shade. Plants need full sun in coastal climates and part shade in hot summer climates and inland.

Sow early spring to early summer outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 6mm (¼in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart. Germination usually takes approximately 21 days.

When large enough to handle thin out to 15-23cm (6-9in) apart. They prefer a sunny open site but will grow in most sites and soils.
