The traveler himself moves away from the bend in the road and deems it natural that the road sign is slightly tilted, the number on the kilometer stone is worn off, and the houses of the settlement are glaringly white, like molded lime. They lie sprawled before us, like the inner world of an aquarium, from which the water has been drained, but remains sustained for a moment (one could write volumes of philosophy about exactly how long that moment might be) and can be passed through and explored, as if the water were still the supporting medium… all this in the expanding silence of existence. | Miklós Mészöly
