Sony has stopped making these, and they are not provided with the purchase of a new laptopbut needed for using the Sony Recovery Utility. They have been tested, and are working great. The purpose of these disks is to repair and restore your laptop to the original factory settings. In order to use these disks, you MUST have your own valid Windows Serial number. This can be found on the bottom of your Sony Vaio laptop.
