The Dominican Bellflower (Cubanola domingensis) is a slow-growing tree has long, fragrant, trumpet-shaped greenish flowers. During the warmer months it produces many greenish bell-shaped flowers that can be fragrant at night.     Dominican Bellflower is in the Gardenia family, not related to the Angel's Trumpet.     Spectacular Dominican Bellflower, aka Campanita Criolla, is considered an extremely rare specimen plant. This plant recommended for your green house, tropical sun room or outdoors zone 10+. It does not tolerate frost and does well in 1-5 gal containers.     Cubanola domingensis is an evergreen shrub, with shiny deep green leaves and approximate 10 inch long tubular, very fragrant, crème colored flowers with a slight green tint.     If planted outdoors, this plant will need lots of water during the summer months, but during winter, just enough water to keep the roots from drying out. This beauty needs well draining soil and does not tolerate "wet feet".  Perfect for the tropical or rare plant collector.
	A slow growing small tree that produces off-white, greenish, trumpet, fragrant flowers. Fragrance is somewhat like warm chocolate. Cubanola is similar and closely related Portlandia. Lately scientists decided to change name Cubanola to Portlandia. The plant prefers filtered light, but can be grown in full sun, too - this way it will flower more profusely but leaves will be smaller. Leaves are silvery-green and shiny. Make sure to water regularly but do not over water, soil must be loose and well-drained. Initially the shrub grows on a tall single stem so it has the look of a standard or lollipop. Gradually, with age, it fills out and becomes more shrub-like. In its native habitat, Portlandia does well in alkaline soils. Cold sensitive, it should be planted with protection from winter winds. Cold may cause leaves to drop and severe cold may knock it back to the ground, but it will spring back. While it can be grown in a container, it flowers better if it is in the ground.
Cubanola domingensis is another Caribbean beauty. Although not very common in cultivation, it is rare in any collection than its relatives Portlandia.    Endemic to the Dominican Republic where it grows in the north and the east parts of the country. In it's native habitat, it will be basking in full sun near the beach as well as stretching out in the shade of humid lowland forest on limestone outcroppings.    It's growth habit is that of a spreading shrub up to 5ft tall, wider than it is tall. Leaves are ovate, up to 6 inches long, leathery, deeply-veined, glossy dark green, and lighter-colored below. The flowers are completely pendent, highly fragrant, 8" long tubular, white or cream with triangular lobes.

Please have potting media and a container prepared for your plant before it arrives. Shipping can be stressful on a plant, and any mistakes that you make upon arrival can stress the plant further, which is not good. Proper care is critical upon arrival. It is your responsibility to know how to care for the plant. Not every plant that I order through the mail survives, and I am aware of that and accept the risk when I order. This is the risk that you as the buyer accept, because there is no way to know what kind of conditions it will endure in the trip to your door.
