This is a nice, glossy 8 x 10 black-and-white picture of Babe Ruth arriving at the Los Angeles train depot and being met by a bevy of movie starlets, to wit, the Wampus Baby Stars of 1927. They pose with the Bambino in this classic publicity photo.
The publicized event, at Union Station, involved Ruth arriving to start work on a movie after his legendary 60-home-run season and 1927 New York Yankees World Series triumph.
These attractive women made up the Wampas Baby Stars of 1927. Sally Rand, the famed fan dancer, is holding onto his left arm.
These are not recent computer scans. We stumbled upon a few high quality industrially-produced copies made prior to 1983, when we found a few at a San Diego photography studio that had closed.
