* Please Note: Shipping Insurance, for this item (which has a retail price of $79.95) includes within the shipping price Full Replacement Insurance Coverage for total loss of the package by the shipping carrier, or, damage of the product (requiring a brand new unit be issued by RBC (that's us) to you, our customer, for an exchange) caused by the shipping company. For this item, the insurance is $2.07 of the shipping fee, and the insurance is through The US Postal Service. This amount is included as part of the Shipping Fee for this item, since the regular, non-warranty price to replace this product has a Manufacturer Requested Price of $79.95. Therefore, if the item is lost or severely damaged while in the possession of the shipping company, before it is delivered to you (our customer), you can be confident you will receive a replacement of the original product ordered, specifically due to the replacement cost being paid via the insurance claim we would file with the shipping company, allowing us the ability to replace the item with a brand new unit for you.
However,
if you wish to forgo the $2.07 to cover total loss or damage of your
order due to the shipping company's inability to deliver the product
you ordered, you may do so by letting us know, via email, which you
must send us before we give the product to the shipping company. The
moment we hand over your order to the shipping company, we are
thereby transferring responsibility for the package, its contents,
and the shipping company is then responsible for the package, the
merchandise in it, and for delivering the shipment to you. So, if you
chose not to insure the shipment of your order, please keep in mind
that if the shipping company looses your package, or damages the
product in a manner that affects the products working ability, we
will have no authority with the shipping company other than to ask
them to retrace your shipment. However, at that point, with no
insurance coverage, we will be unable to do anything, like replace a
lost shipment, or be able to exchange a damaged unit at no cost to
you. Damaged products, of this type, although highly unusual since
all products we ship are not only shipped within the manufacturer's
protective packaging, we additionally wrap our products in protective
bubble wrap, or bubble bags, and then often use either rigid
cardboard packaging, or place our products in padded and/or bubble
protective mailers for additional product safety. Although the damage
mentioned above is rare, it can happen.....especially during the
holiday shipping rush between the beginning of November and the end
of December. Depending on how carefully the shipping company and/or
its employees handle packages while en-route to a customer's
destination can make all the difference. Please also keep in mind
that shipping charges, either way, are not refundable.....unless we
are able to file an insurance claim with the shipper. If insurance
was in place, and we file a claim for loss or damage of a product
requiring replacement, all shipping fees will be taken care of, and
you will not be responsible for any additional shipping fees as we
will cover them. Your initial shipping and insurance fees will not be
refundable, but we will cover the new shipping and insurance fees to
send you a new or replacement product after we file a loss or damage
claim for the insurance reimbursement.
The choice of keeping your order insured is completely up to you, but
we recommend leaving that insurance in place. FOR FULL DISCLOSURE:
we do not make any money from, or keep any of the insurance fee(s)
…..(all of it goes to the shipping company to cover any loss or
damage to replace your product if something should happen). We
highly recommend you keep the insurance coverage as it is really
quite inexpensive. If you chose otherwise, please follow the
directions listed above and we will refund it, at your request, but
you must follow the directions. The dollar or two for the insurance
could save you a lot of grief, not to mention a lot of money and/or a
product you might end up paying for twice if you forgo the
insurance.....which is through the US Postal Service by the way.
Again, the choice is completely up to you. Thank you for your
understanding in this matter. RBC
