Follows the text of the author's works published in 1645 and 1667. Begins with poems he wrote in school and at college, beginning in 1624, Poems written at Horton, Sonnets and later sonnets, poems written in Italy, translations, Poems written during the English civil war and during the protectorate (Cromwell's reign), Paradise Lost, Paradise Regained, Latin Poems, and more. Poems are printed chronilogically, with titles and dates of composition. ALso includes a brief biography, an appendix of notes and illustrations, index of first lines, index of titles, etc. A very complete and useful book of Milton. In very nice condition, with clean pages on creamy white paper, not noticeably aged, not written in or marked. No stains seen. Binding is good, no loose or loosening pages. Name and 1920 date on front pastedown. Some pencil notations on rear endpapers. In dark green hardcover, bilt lettering on spine is 60-75% intact, some light wear at edges and spine ends.
