Good looking group of early Bantam paperback editiions. included in this bunch are:
1. HIGH PRESSURE by Ahmad Kamal. Excellent clean condition, single faint spine crease, very light edgewear, covers are glossy and clean, great bright colors, 1949. No. 716. "Skinny" rooster logo at lower spine.Actually ALL of the books in this lot have this logo on the lower spine. Interior is clean and bright.
2. LONG, LONG AGO by Alexander Woollcott. No. 39. Near fine, cover is very square and bright with caricature painting of Harpo Marx, Dorothy Parker, etc. Subtitle is 39 stories about famous people. A different caricature probably by The New Yorker's Ralph Barton is on both endpapers. Binding is very tight, seems unopened, no marks or writing. 1946.
3. CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN by Frank B. Gilbreath, Jr. and Enernestine Gilbreth Carey. No. 960. 1st Bantam printing, 1951. Some loose pagers in front, fair condition, cover is intact with good image, illustrated by Donald McKay, some light wear to pages.
4. NOTHING CAN RESCUE ME by Elizabeth Daly. No. 53, 1946, first priinting. Cover lamination lifted at one corner, color is bright and clean, some minor edgewear, crease on back cover, no spine creases, pages are bright and clean with light browning at edges. Good condition.
5. NIGHTMARE IN MANHATTAN by Thomas Walsh. No. 895. First Bantam printing, 1951. Covers have an s-bend, moderate creases, pages ar bright with edge tanning. Fair to good condition.
6. THE CASE OF THE UNHAPPY ANGELS by Geoffrey Homes. (Original title: Six Silver Handles.) VG, flat bright covers with terrific graphics, spine crease, some molderate edgewear. Pages are very bright and clean. This is the first Bantam printing, 1950.o. 309. Published 1948. First thus. Bob Doares illustrations. Bright glossy cover, slightly curled, no creases. Single chip at top corner outer edge about 1/3 inch long. Lamination lifting slightly on back cover edge. pages are white and bright, not marked or spotted. VG.
