1. The Secret Diary of harold L. Ickes: The FIrst Thousand Days, 1933-1936. Simon and Schuster, 1953, First edition, stated first printing. Blue hardcover with tan spine covering. VG condition, square and clean, tight, not bumped or damaged. Includes laid in a 12 page pamphlet guide to the people in this book, an alphabetical listing of numerous administration members and others with their title and role.

2. Fightin' Oil by Harold L. Ickes. First edition, 2nd printing. Knopf, 1943. VG condition in tan cloth covered boards. Clean and bright, no noticeable damage or wear.

 

Ickes was the Petroleum Adminstrator For War in the FDR administration.  He was also Secretary of the Interior from 1933 through 1946, the implementor of the New Deal, and a very important figure in American history. (the Harold Ickes of the Clinton Administration is his son.)
