This is a very good condition, compact book called THE BUDDHIST CATECHISM. Above this title is written the words, " Namo Tassa Bhagavato Avahatu Samma Sambuddhassa." By Henry S. Olcott, President-Founder of the Theosophical Society. Approved and Recommended for use in Buddhist schools by H> SUMANGALA, Pradhana Nayaka Sthavira, high Priest of the Sripada and Western Province and Principal of the Vidyodaya Parivena. FORTY_FOURTH EDITION. Also, The Smaller Buddhist Catechism compiled by C. W. Leadbeater and C. Jinarajadasa.

(Both titles are contained in this book.) Published by The Theosophical Publishing Hosue, Adyar, Madras, India, 1947. The dedication by the author is dated 1903, date of first publication. The pages are clean and bright. The first pages have some light underlining marks, which do not appear after page 13.

Light green book is clean and square, with one small bent corner. Two tiny dust spots on front. The title is embossed and written in black ink on the front, along with the word ADYAR at the bottom. Black title also appears on spine.

The first title in the book goes through page 106. The Smaller Buddhist Catechism begins on the next page, compiled by C. W. Leadbeater, translated from the Sinhalese by C. jinarajadasa, MA, St. Johns College, Cambridge. Approved and recommended for the instruction of Buddhist children by the late H. Sumangala, principal of the Vidyodaya College for Buddhist Monks, High Priest of Adam's Peak and of the Western and SOuthern Provinces of Ceylon. This begins with a note from the translator dated 1901, and continues with a Q and A style catechism through page 145.

The binding is in very good condition, tight, no breaking or loosening. No wear to boards beyond the one bumped corner. Near fine.
