Very Good- in Very Good jacket 4to-over 9¾"-12" tall. Beautiful, large book with text by Matthiessen, photos, of which there are many, by Porter. The front board has a moderate warp. The jacket is mildly sunned at top edge, but without tears chips or creases. Tan cloth covered boards. Some of the text was published in serial form prior to hardcover publication. The terra and life of the African continent. First edition.
