This is a set of five books published in the 1950s, each with an eye-popping piece of graphic design for a jacket...colors are vivid and intense and each one is worthy of framing and displaying in your mid-century or modern home.
1. The Narrow Search by Andrew Garve, intense violet purple, dark aqua blue and black. jacket by Helen Borten. A few small shite spots near fold, VG+. 1957.
2. The Principal by Benjamin Siegel, jacket by Ellen Raskin. Very cool, scaled down and modern depiction of three trees and a fence. Slight aging around the outer edge, a few very minor marks from rubbing. VG. 1963.
3. And Left For Dead by Frances and Richard Lockridge. Stunning bright chartreuse and teal blue with white and black. A single faint small spot near the center front edge, and a single 1/2 inch or less tear at bottom edge. By the great Arthur Hawkins. 1961.
4. The Neon Haystack by james Michael Ullman. Bright fuschia and grass green with black and very dark burgundy backgrounds. 1963. Mint. Art by Lawrence Ratzkin.
5. Something Light by margery Sharp. Light Olive green, pastel coral, black and white playful dof and bird image. 1960. Near mint, very small partial chip at top edge. Jacket by Ira Goldblatt. (There's also a wonderful author photo on rear, with her hair pulled back and wearing a large pair of clear cat-eye glasses.
Framed and in a row, these jackets will make an unforgettable gallery out of any plain wall space. They will ship with the books, all in very good condition.
