THIS COIN IS 100 YEARS OLD!
According to the guidelines of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) grading scale, I feel this coin would as G-4 Good. ANA description of G-4 is:
"Entire design is well worn. Legend and date are weak but visible. Wheat is worn nearly flat but is completely outlined."

Designed by Victor D Brenner, this cent was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. The designers initials (V.D.B.) appear on the reverse of a limited number of 1909. The initials were restored in 1918 to the obverse side of Lincoln's shoulder. The Lincoln penny was the first coin to bear the inscription “In God We Trust”
