Vintage 1990's Turkish Hand painted Jewelry/Trinket Box

Up for auction is this beautiful hand painted Bone Jewelry / Trinket Box from Turkey.

The item is small in size (L) 2” x (H) 1-1/2” x (W) 1”, however the hand painted details are truly amazing.

I obtained this item when I visited Turkey back in the early 1990's as new, and I have had it stored away since that time.

This item was made using camel bone, which was prepared by boiling the bone many times, then thoroughly drying it so that it could be made ready for carving.

A drawing of several people in traditional Turkish clothing playing musical instruments was then made on the surface of this piece, and then the design was hand painted by a Turkish artist using several small very fine brushes, and sealing the art using a special varnish.

This beautifully handpainted miniature jewelry case is perfect for anyone who wishes to store their rings in before you retire for the night, or for anyone who wants to own a piece of authentic Turkish craftsmanship.
