Hello!  My name is Ryan Hurd!  I am 16 years old and I am a bladesmith.

This is a Japanese style machete.  It is also known in America as the corn machete (it was used to cut corn stalks).

Statistics:

Length: 18 inches

Handle length: 7 inches

Blade length: 11 inches

Maximum blade thickness:  3/16 inch

This machete was totally handforged by me using the traditional blacksmithing techniques that I have been taught.  I used recycled truck springs so it is environmentally friendly.  The only grinding done on the knife was the final sharpening of the edge.  This guarantees a well and quickly forged product and keeps the price low.  It has been hardened and tempered.  Sharpen as you would an axe.  This machete comes very sharp so be careful!

The handle is cord wrapped with 550 paracord.  Paracord is the cord the military uses on their parachutes.  There is a lanyard at the end for easy carrying.

There is also an arrow straightening/finger hole in the handle of the knife.  This hole is very useful for straightening anything that will fit into it.  If you are out on the job and something is crooked, use this as a bending wrench.  It is hot punched to 5/8 of an inch.

This machete is an amazing chopper!  It feels good in the hand and is a joy to use!  It is very aesthetically appealing due to the texture of the springs.

This machete is great for the heavy user to chop down weeds in the yard or branches off of trees.  It also makes a fabulous collectible for the collector.

The price of this machete is $80.  As an added bonus I throw in free shipping!

A sheath is available for an extra cost.

Thank you for buying!
