Most skin injuries can cause scars and keloids. In response to the damage, the body attempts to repair  the wound in four major phases: inflammatory, proliferative, contraction, and remodeling.
Unfortunately, this process of healing gives rise to scars. Typically scars lack hair follicles and sweat glands are less elastic than original skin and tend to be lighter in color. Scar can be classifed as hypertrophic(rised scar within the boundaries of the original wound), keloid (rised scar that tends to extend beyond the boundaries of original wound),  and hypotrophic (scar may be depressed and hyperpingmented). Scars develop due to the proliferation of fibroblasts in the wound. Fibroblasts are specialize cells that produce collagen, which then fills and closes the wound. Scars differ from normal skin in the amount of collagen they contain and the way in
which these collagen fibrils are arranged. In normal skin, the collagen fibrils are organized, with most running in the direction  of the crease lines of skin and a much smaller number running perpendicular to this, but in scars, the collagen is disorganized

Indications
