designed and constructed with 440c High Carbon stainless steel. Not all steels are the same! 440c is a favorite of the US military and is widely in use today. It's primary quality is hardness with flexibility. Also it take extreme temperatures on both ends and maintains it's integrity and edge. The blade's length is 8 1/4" with a 3 1/2 x 1 1/4" handle area. Polished and sharpened blade. Polished brass guard attached.The curved blade is perfect for skinning out large cavities. If your skinning an animal or having a close encounter with Sasquatch this blade, with it's ergonomic design, is a great choice
