~Adorable Victorian Carved Walnut Child's Sofa / Settee circa 1880~ Being presented for sale is this Adorable Victorian Carved Walnut Button & Tufted Child's Size Sofa circa 1880. This sofa is a sweet example of a 19th century sofa that is a smaller child's size and has all the splendor and elegance like the full size Victorian sofas of that era. This sofa measures a total height of 32 inches from the floor to the top of the carved crestrail at the center,total length is 51 inches, seat height of 18 inches, seat width of 38 inches, seat depth of 18 inches, and the sofa weighs approximately 50 lbs. This fine 19th century Victorian Child's' sofa has a gorgeous carved walnut serpentine crestrail with rounded rail corners continuing down to the full covered arms, carved incurved arm supports, a soft down filled cushion on the seating area with a conforming serpentine seat rail, demi-cabriole front legs,carvings at the knees and tapered back legs, with the original brass casters intact on all four feet. The newer replacement fabric is a beautiful rich deep cranberry diamond pattern with matching covered cord trim.The fabric has no holes, tears or stains and presents beautifully. This Victorian Walnut Sofa is solid and very sturdy and has a gorgeous presence all of its own and would be a wonderful photographer's prop, or a charming little seating area in front of a bay window.
