Being presented for sale is this exceptional American Victorian Neo Grec Rosewood and Gilt Decorated Slipper Settee / petite Canape  Attributed to Pottier & Stymus , NY circa 1865. This fabulous 19th century piece features a molded oval back with turned finials,husk carved low arms, an oval seat rail with gilt incised leaves with fluted tapered legs and the original casters on all four feet. We believe this piece to have retained its original finish and gold gilt and features fine rich patina; with recent upholstery that offers matching covered cord trim.

This settee / canape measures 32 inches in height at the back,a total width of 32 1/2 inches, seat width of 29 inches and seat depth of 20 inches , seat height measures 17 inches and this piece weighs approximately 30 lbs.  

Fabric is in excellent like new condition with no issues we can find. The two finials on the chair back do have chips on the back side which I have shown in a close up picture. A beautiful, quality piece from one of the finest furniture makers of the 19th century that is ready to become a treasured part of your home.
