Being offered for sale is this fantastic Victorian American Chestnut and Elm Marble Top 3 Piece Bedroom set /suite circa 1890's. This 3 piece set offers wonderful burl accents, floral swags with ribbons and rosettes, spoon carvings and incised carvings. This charming bedroom set is in wonderful condition ready to take its place in your home. The carved high back bed measures a total height at the head-board of 76 3/4 inches , a total outside width of the bed is 59 inches, outside length of 81 1/2 inches, the height of the foot-board measures 36 inches, and the height of the rails at the flat center portion measures 15 inches from the floor, and the approximate total weight of the bed is 135 lbs. The inside mattress area measures 56 inches wide by 77 inches long and should accommodate a full size mattress set nicely with plenty of room to tuck in the blankets and coverlets, but you should measure your mattress set to assure proper fit. The highly carved rails are spectacular with splendid floral spoon carvings on each end. The next to the bottom board on the head-board does have a shrinkage crack that does not go all the way across and will not be seen when your mattress and bedding are in place. The foot board does have two veneer chips on the very top about the size of a quarter and some nics and dings to the straight piece of molding across the foot board..I have tried to shown this area in a close-up picture of the foot-board. The matching marble top dresser also has the same carvings and details like those of the head-board and measures a total height of 83 inches to the top of the mirror, a total width of 46 1/2 inches, a total depth of 21 1/2 inches and the height from the floor to the marble top of the dresser is 31 3/4 inches, and the approximate weight of the dresser with the mirror is 185 lbs. The marble is beautiful with shades of pink, tan and white and in fantastic antique condition.The original mirror measures 33 inches wide by 33 inches high and is in fine antique condition. The original candle shelves flanked the mirror and have the original brass brackets attaching them to the mirror.The dresser base has three smaller storage drawers over 2 larger ones each having the original Victorian brass pulls and matching brass key escutcheons, and period dove-tailing on the drawers with all the casters intact on the feet. The matching marble top washstand measures 38 1/4 inches in height to the top of the marble back-splash,height from the floor to the top if the marble top measures 28 1/2 inches,washstand base measures 31 3/4 inches wide and 18 inches deep and weighs approximately 120 lbs. The washstand base has a larger drawer at the top with two smaller drawers on the right and a cabinet to the left that offers wonderful storage space, with each of the drawers having brass pulls like the dresser, with the marble matching the marble on the dresser and is also in wonderful antiques condition.The also the casters are intact on the base and all the locks are intact on the dresser and the washstand but we do not have the keys.
