~Classic Victorian Carved Walnut Button Back Carved Leaf & Nuts Sofa / Settee circa 1875~ Being presented for sale is this Classic Victorian Walnut Button Back Sofa / Settee circa 1875. This sofa has all the splendor and elegance one expects from Victorian era pieces. This sofa measures a total height of 39 1/2 inches from the floor to the top of the carved crest at the center,total length is 63 inches, seat height of 16 inches, seat width of 48 inches, seat depth of 18 1/2 inches, and the sofa weighs approximately 65 lbs. This Early Victorian sofa has a serpentine crest-rail with carved leaves and nuts at the center with rounded rail corners continuing down to the full covered arms and carved incurved arm-supports. This sofa offers a button back and arms, with a conforming serpentine seat rail, demi-cabriole front legs,carvings at the knees and tapered back legs with original porcelain casters intact on all four feet. The vintage replacement fabric is a beautiful light green velvet with matching gimp trim.The fabric has no holes or tears but does show fading on each end where a pillow once rested.This Sofa / settee is solid and very sturdy and has a lovely presence all of its own.
