Description:  It is an original antique title page over 300 years old with a copper engraved print of muses contemplating a globe. The print has embossed plate marks around the edges with the text printed by wood block. It is by Pieter Van der AA, sometimes spelled as Vander AA (1659-1733), a Dutch mapmaker and publisher who was located in Leyden, best known for his atlases and volumes on the Voyages of Exploration. It is from Van der AA's volumous work on the English Voyages, the details are readable in the pics. The page is dated at the bottom 1706. Overall a nice quality antique print in great shape.

Size: The engraved area of the muses with globe measures approximately 5 by 7 inches. The entire page measures approximately 9 by 14 1/2" (23x38cm) page as seen in the pic.

Condition: The print is in Very Good condition for its age with very minor tonal ageing, basically as seen in the pic. It is printed on nice strong high rag paper of the period with the typical linear striations that is seen when held to the light. The lay of the paper is a little uneven around the edges as expected and some minor bumping on the edges. The left binding edge is slightly trimmed and there is a hand written number in the bottom right. Overall it is in very clean, see the pic for more on condition. The pics are of the actual page.
