Title: Admiral David G. Farragut. [born Campbell's Station near Knoxvill, 1801; died in Portsmouth NH in 1870]
Description: It is an authentic 115 year old Antique Woodcut Print from Frank Leslie's Illustrated History of the Civil War (New York, c. 1890). Frank Leslie was perhaps best known for his documentation of the Civil War in his Illustrated Weekly Newspaper that chronicled the war. The best of these illustrations were reissued in combined volumes and histories after the war. He sent artists to the battle fields to sketch the events, which were then brought back to his printing company where they were cleaned up and turned into illustrations, cut onto wood blocks, sometimes taking several blocks for the larger prints as in this case. The print is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. There are smaller images and text on the reverse. Overall, a very nicely preserved print that would frame up well!
Size: The image area measures approximately 9 1/2 by 14 inches on a 14 1/2 by 17" page with a margin all around as seen in the pic.
Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age with overall light tonal aging, basically as seen in the pics. There is some darkening around the edges, otherwise it is very clean as seen in the pic and would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual print.

Shipping: $2.90 for First Class or $4.80 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA; $4.80 for First Class International to Canada; $8 for International Airmail elsewhere in the World or $23 for Priority International, which includes Paypal insurance. We ship daily, so if still bidding send us a quick email to hold or better just pay all at once at the end.
Shipping to Italy: Due to ongoing problems with the Italian Post, an additional $10.80 for Registration plus the cost of shipping is now required for all shipments to Italy with the exception of small prints of low value, ask if you have questions.
Save on Shipping: We only charge one shipping fee based on the largest map or print with multiple items shipped along with it for no extra costs. Purchase 5 or more maps or prints and receive Free First Class shipping in USA or First Class International elsewhere in the world, although registration may be required on shipments of high value.
Domestic Insurance: Insurance is now included in Paypal for USA.
International Insurance/Registration: Registration is offered and may be required on all overseas shipments of high value at $10.80, without it we will not be responsible once item is shipped. Registration is required for all shipments to Italy.
International Customs and VAT Fees: It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay all Customs Taxes, VAT or other fees that may be due upon arrival. These fees vary greatly from country to country and ebay policy is that the buyer is responsible for their country's taxes and fees. Please consult your country's Customs Regulations for more details on your country, printed matter is duty free in many countries. We declare the full purchase value as required by law. Delays by Customs: Although most items arrive at their destination very quickly, we have no control over how long it takes an item to move through Customs, which can be held for up to six weeks in rare cases.
