Description: It is an authentic engraved antique map from the Atlas to Marshall's Life of Washington (Philadelphia: J. Crissy, 1832), a facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as shown in the main pic. It is uncolored with a centerfold in its original state. Marshall's Life of Washington, first published in 1804 was one of the first works to present a series of Revolutionary War maps that chronicled the Revolution, while it was still fresh in the memory of the country showing details of towns, roads, fortifications, troop and ship positions in some cases. The Crissy edition is probably the most accessible with the earlier editions being extremely rare and valuable. Overall, an exceptional example of this rare map that would be great for anymore interested in the Revolutionary War period.
Size: The map image measures approximately 6 x 9 1/2 inches on a 9 x 11" page with a margin all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Very Good to Excellent condition with a centerfold as issued, blank on the reverse. It is basically as seen in the pic. Other than some light browning along the fold, the map is very clean and bright. It has been cleaned to remove the binding residue along the centerfold and has been pressed flat so it is ready for matting and framing. It will be shipped flat. The pics are of the actual map.
