Title: Coste D'Afrique et les Isles comprises entre le Cap Rouge et la Riviere de Nunho
Description: It is an original antique copper engraving with embossed plate marks around the margins. It is by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, Royal Hydrographer for the French Crown, an office involved in creating charts and maps mainly for navigation purposes. The map was originally published in l'Abbe Antoine Prevost's Histoire generale des Voyages, 20 vols. (Paris: Didot, 1746-1759), the maps date fall somewhere within the publication range, so we have listed them as c. 1750 unless the date is printed on the map. The print is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. It is a very nice dark impression on a bright clean linen page with a centerfold as issued. It is a beautiful print with an Antique appearance as deisred!
Size: The print image measures approximately 8 by 11 inches (21 x 26cm) on a 11 by 16" (27 x 41cm)page as seen in the pic. A wide margin all around for matting.
Condition: The print is in Very Good condition for its age with embossed plate marks around the edges. It is printed on quality cotton paper of the period, the irregularities around the edges are not flaws but from the paper making process, which many can appreciate. The map is very clean, blank on the reverse, good impression as shown, slight cockling to the paper. Disregard any pinkish tints or dark shadows from lighting only. In general, the pics are very accurately of the actual condition.

Shipping: $5 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA. International bidders add $5 for First Class or $11.00 for International Priority mailer (the most secure). International Priority is required for all purchases over $100. These rates are very close to actual postage rates. No additional postage on multiple maps and prints shipped together with the first, pay only the shipping cost of the largest item. Free Shipping on purchases of 5 or more maps. We usually ship same or next day, so send us an email if you are still bidding and want us to hold until all auctions have ended to save on shipping. We can send a combined invoice when finished.
Insurance rates: We recommended and offer optional low insurance of $2.00 for up to $100 of value and $3 up to $200, etc; For international buyers the $11 Priority International is the most secure and economical option for small items (8 by 10 inches or less). Optional International Registration is an additional $11.

We will send an invoice after purchase. Please don't bid unless you plan on paying the Express fees. No exceptions, although we are glad to combine multiple purchases for the one shipping fee.
International Buyers: We are not able to calculate nor pay individual country Customs or VAT Taxes, the buyer is responsible for paying these fees upon arrival. Fortunately, printed matter is often duty free, but please check your country's Customs Regulations.
