Description: It is an original antique copper engraved map with original handcolor as issued. It is by Robert de Vaugondy, whose name appears in the cartouche and was published in the Nouvel Atlas Portatif, Paris 1761. The map is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. A very detailed map for the era. Overall, A Beautiful Map that will frame up nicely.
Size: The map image measures approximately 8 by 9 1/2 inches on a 12 1/2 by 17 1/2" page as seen in the pic with a centerfold as issued and a wide margin all around.
Condition: The map is in Very Good condition for its age with only very light tonal ageing. There is a slight split at the bottom of the centerfold of about a half inch. It is very clean, blank on the reverse, printed on quality paper and should frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual map.
