Description: It is an original engraved antique map in great shape with vibrant handcoloring. It has a copyright of 1836 along the bottom and the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge (SDUK)appears in the title block. It is from an 1844 Atlas publsihed under the authority of the SDUK, a copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The society was formed in 1826 and committed to the publication of the most upto date scientific findings for the dispersion of knowledge to the public. The maps are some of the most detailed of the period. Overall, a Beautiful Map that will frame up nicely.
Size: The map image measures approximately 12 by 15 1/2 inches on a 13 1/2 by 16 1/2" page with a margin all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Good or better condition with overall tonal aging and superb color, blank on the reverse. There is some darkening around the edges, otherwise the map image is very clean with no distracting defects to mention.

Shipping: $5 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA and $5 by International Airmail to Canada. Elsewhere in the world add $7 for International Airmail. Please note these rates are very close to actual postage rates. No additional postage on multiple maps shipped together with the first, we are glad to ship as many maps as you want for one $5 or $7 shipping fee. Free Shipping on purchases of 5 or more maps. Insurance rates: We recommended and offer optional low insurance of $2.00 for up to $100 of value and $3 up to $200, $4 up to $300, etc. International registration with insurance is an additional $8.00. Insurance is encouraged: without it we will not be responsible once item is shipped.
