Description: It is an original engraved antique map with handcoloring as issued from Joseph Meyer's Zeitung Atlas, dated on the map 1847. The date appears in the title block and the publishing details (Bibliographischen Instituts zu Hildburghausen) appears in the bottom margin. There is a lot of very small detail with many place names as in the German cartographic tradition. It is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic.
Size: The map image measures approximately 7 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches on a 8 1/2 by 11" page as seen in the pic.
Condition: The map is in Fair to Good condition and some light tonal ageing with a slight darkening around the edges, blank on the reverse. There is some light staining as seen. The number is neatly handwritten in the top right, some maps have two numbers. Overall, a very nice map that will frame up well. See the pics, which shows all.
