Description:  It is an original antique map designed by M. Vuillemin under the direction of J.A. Barral for  Atlas du Cosmos, Paris, Guerin, 1867. A copy of the title page of the Atlas is included for authenticity. Also included is an original single sided text page explaining the map, text in French. The atlas is based "particularly on the work of Alexander Humboldt and Francois Arago" as stated in the long title. It is a lithograph map printed in black and red, the registration markes are in the margin along with the embossing of the edges of the plate. A very nicely designed hand colored map that will frame up beautifully! 

Size: The map image measures approximately 10 by 16 inches on a 13 by 18 1/2" page with a margin of an inch or more all around for framing.  

Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age with overall light tonal ageing. It is a strong impression on a clean page, blank on the reverse. The map is very clean with no distracting defects to mention.  See the pics for more detail on condition.

Shipping: $2.95 for First Class or $4.95 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA; $5.00 for First Class to Canada and $8.00 for First Class International Airmail elsewhere in the World or $23.00 for Priority International, which includes Paypal insurance. We ship daily, so if still bidding send us a quick email to hold or better just pay all at once at the end.

Shipping to Italy: Due to ongoing problems with the Italian Post, an additional $10.80 for Registration plus the cost of shipping is now required for all shipments to Italy with the exception of small prints of low value, ask if you have questions.

Save on Shipping: We only charge one shipping fee based on the largest map or print with multiple items shipped along with it for no extra costs. Purchase 5 or more maps or prints and receive Free First Class shipping in USA or First Class International elsewhere in the world, although registration may be required on shipments of high value.

Domestic Insurance: Insurance is now included in Paypal for USA.

International Insurance/Registration: Registration is offered and may be required on all overseas shipments of high value at $10.80, without it we will not be responsible once item is shipped.  Registration is required for all shipments to Italy.

International Customs and VAT Fees: It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay all Customs Taxes, VAT or other fees that may be due upon arrival. These fees vary greatly from country to country and ebay policy is that the buyer is responsible for their country's taxes and fees. Please consult your country's Customs Regulations for more details on your country, printed matter is duty free in many countries. We declare the full purchase value as required by law.  Delays by Customs: Although most items arrive at their destination very quickly, we have no control over how long it takes an item to move through Customs, which can be held for up to six weeks in rare cases.
