Description: It is a map of Abingdon with a albumen photo mounted on the map showing a view across the river of Abingdon. It came to us dated circa 1860s, probably from a small travel book. A unique item for anyone interested in Abingdon history.
Size: The map image measures approximately 5 1/2 by 8 inches on a 6 1/2 by 9" page as seen in the pic. The photo measures 1 1/4 by 2 inches. A nice wide margin all around for matting.
Condition: The map is in Good condition with overall light tonal ageing. It was once framed at some point with browning in the corners from small pieces of tape on the back. There is a small white blemish in the photo as seen, a slight cockling due to the mounting of the photo, dampstain on the very edges of the side margins and a couple of light brown spots on the map, with a centerfold as issued, blank on the reverse.
