Title: Plan of the Operations of the Confederate & French Forces on the Moselle & Saar: During the Month of June 1705.
Description: It is an authentic copper engraved antique map with the embossed plate marks around the margin and some handcolor of military positions. It is from William Coxe's Atlas to the Memoirs of John Duke of Marlborough. Although the War took place in 1705, he map was published by Longman, et al. in London in 1817 as stated in the bottom center margin. It is designed by Major C.H. Smith and engraved by Neele as stated in the bottom corners. It is not matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as shown in the main pic. Overall a very nice large map
Size: The map image measures approximately 13 3/4 by 17 (35x43cm) on a 16 by 18 inch (40x45cm) page with a margin all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Good condition with overall tonal aging with one horizontal fold and two vertical folds as issued, blank on the reverse. It is basically as seen with some moderate back printing as seen in the pic. The right side is trimmed to fold into the atlas. There are a couple of repaired short tears on the right side and a two inch split at the end of the fold. It is printed on heavy quality paper that is very pliable and in great shape. It would frame up with a rich antique patina many desire. The pics are of the actual map.
