Description: It is an original steel plate engraved antique map from the Atlas to Alison's History of Europe published by William Blackwood & Sons in Edinburgh and London as stated in the bottom center margin. It was published in 1852 as stated on the title page, a copy of which is included for authenticity. The map was designed by Alexander Keith Johnston, whose name appears in the title block and in the bottom left margin. In general, there is some handcoloring showing major routes of campaigns, troop positions, batteries and other details, depending on each map. It is not mounted or matted being sold as a single sheet as shown in the first pic. A great map for framing or study.
Size: The map image measures approximately 6 by 8 inches (15 x 20cm) on a 9 by 11" (22 x 28cm) page with one inch or more margins all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Very Good condition for its age with overall tonal ageing with some darkening around the edges, otherwise the map is very clean, printed on a heavy page with a slight buff tint and some handcoloring of troop positions. See the pics of the actual map.

Shipping: $3 for First Class Shipping or $4.80 for Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the USA and $5 by International First Class elsewhere in the world. Insured Priority International is $11. We do combine shipping and charge only one fee based on the largest map, so buy as many as you want and pay no extra shipping. Free US Shipping or First Class International on purchases of 5 or more maps. We do ship daily so let us know if you want us to hold until you are finished bidding or better just pay when you are finished. We can always send an updated invoice at the end.
Insurance rates: We recommended and offer optional low insurance of $1.70 for up to $100 of value and $2.45 up to $200, etc. (USPS rates). Insurance is generally covered by Paypal for US destination or Priority International shipments elsewhere in the world. For International buyers, Priority International is automatically insured. Insurance is encouraged: without it we will not be responsible once item is shipped. International Registration is an additional $10.80 and may be required on orders of high value.

We will send an invoice after purchase. Please don't bid unless you plan on paying the express fees. No exceptions, although we are glad to combine multiple purchases for the one shipping fee.
