Title: Map of the Valley of the Danube from Ratisbon to Presburg to Illustrate the Campaigns of 1808-9.
Description: It is an original engraved antique map printed in 1864. It is in great shape with vibrant handcoloring. It is from Baron Jomini's Life of Napoleon Atlas, translated from the French by Halleck, published in New York by Van Nostrand, 1864. Baron Jomini was the General in Chief and Aid de Camp to th Emperor of Russia. His maps have become very popular among those intrested in the Napoleonic wars. They are handcolored showing major routes of campaigns, troop positions, batteries and other details. These are particularly in very nice shape and are good for framing or study.
Size: The map image measures approximately 6 by 8 inches on a 7 1/4 by 9" page with a half inch or more margin all around for framing.
Condition: The map is in Very Good or better condition for its age printed on a bright and heavy page with superb color. It is blank on the reverse side and is still attached on the left to part of the linen tab that it held it in. It is very clean with no defects to mention other than a slight darkening along the edges. The pics are very accurate in general, we try to match the colors of the original, but some computer screens still may vary slightly.
