the life story of Minamoto Yoshitsune A popular historical figure in Japan who
is known to have been an excellent battlefield commander during the end of the
Heian period.
Yoshitsune, a member of the Genji clan, contributed greatly to
the clan's victory over their rival Heike clan and the establishment of his
brother as the first Shogunate in history.
Based on a novel by Tomiko Miyao, this drama portrays the life
of a real "super hero" focusing on the rivalry and sympathy between Yoshitsune
and Tairano Kiyomori, the head of the Heike clan.
