PAPER CRANE (1962)
Hana No Orizurugasa - Hantaro, a wandering yakuza and con artist, becomes entangled in a web of deceit when he is inadvertently given a stolen wallet by a female pickpocket.
The amount of money and the letter therein suggests that he is a Lord’s vassal and he plays it up. Hantaro ends up risking his life to save a beautiful blind girl and her father from the con-artists that slipped him the wallet in the first place.
Okawa Hashizo, paints a wonderful portrait of the courageous wanderer who puts his life on the line to help others. This film has very close similarities to "Zatoichi" Vol. 5, "On The Road".
