Doberuman deka - A fantastic slice of 1970s Chiba.
The burned remains of a young woman are discovered and the police come to the conclusion that its the work of a pyromaniac serial killer. The murder victim is identified as Mayumi Tamaki, a native of Ishigaki, Okinawa. As the investigation unfolds, her former boyfriend, Chōei Mikawa, emerges as a suspect.
But Kano, a country bumpkin Detective bought to Tokyo to help solve the case, does not agree that Mikawa is the culprit, so he starts conducting the investigation himself in search of the real criminal.
There's a fair amount of anti-establishment bikers, crazy cops, yakuzas, prostitutes, and star-system sleazebags. But what makes Doberman Cop worthwhile is Sonny Chiba. The guy is a badass, there's no way around that. And he gets to show his ass-kicking skills on a number of occasions.
Overall Doberman Cop is one of Chiba and Fukasaku’s most unusual and compelling collaborations.
