FANCY DANCE (1989)
Fanshi dansu - Based on the hit manga by Okano Reiko. Yohei, a punk rocker, has to become a Buddhist monk in order to inherit a mountain temple.
Yohei is a punk rocker whose father owns a Buddhist temple in the mountains. When he is forced to inherit the temple, Yohei has to enter the temple and train to be a monk for a year. Despite Yohei's initial rebellious resistance to the training regime, he learns to find a balance between the two contrasting worlds with his fellow monks-in-training. However, his girlfriend shows up at the temple one day, luring Yohei back into his old world.
