This whimsical and exciting science fiction fairy-tail is set in a small Spanish kingdom during the middle ages. A strange armored dragon has been terrorizing the countryside, and Klever (Harvey Keitel), a rather inept castle guard, has vowed to slay the beast. When the mute, enigmatic Star Knight (Miguel Bose) suddenly abducts the beautiful Princess Alba (Maria Lamour), the king offers a reward to anyone who can rescue his daughter. Klever accepts the challenge in hopes of marrying Alba, but the princess has fallen in love with her handsome captor and does not wish to be rescued. To make matters worse, the greedy court wizard Boecius (Klaus Kinski) suspects there is more to the mystic Star Knight than anyone realizes, and joins the chase in order to learn the alchemy for changing base metals into gold... and the secret elixir for immortality. As Klever and Boecius close in on the couple, the Star Knight has a surprise for them all!
