One of the many techniques we use is replacing the frankly bad clamps that hold down the heatsinks for the CPU and the GPU in the 360. There are many guides to doing this mod. We have had many requests as to which washers and screws we use in our own repair, and if you can buy them. Well ask and you shall receive. You need 8 machine screws, 16 metal washers, and 16 nylon washers to replace the clips on your 360s heatsinks. Instead of going to Lowe's or Home Depot trying to scrounge for ones that will work, you can purchase them all here in a simple kit. It includes 8 M5-.80X10 screws, 16 5mm flat metal washers, and 16 #10 flat nylon washers. We have hand picked these since their size has worked best in our repairs. Some metal washers have been too large, and some machine screws have heads that are too tall. These Phillips head screws have worked the best out of all the types we have tried. Using this method you do not alter the heatsink, or the case, so you can put the clips back on, and send in your Xbox to Microsoft if you want, and hope that they will warranty it. Of course any time you open your Xbox you are risking losing warranty.
