Presented here is one decade Catholic Rosary/Chaplet Bracelet made of Mother-of-pearl beads and Sterling Silver with a first Communion Cross and 2 Sterling medals - one which is enameled.
The interesting situation is that both medals are monogrammed M.G. and dated 3 May 1888. This shows that the owner received 2 monogrammed medals on the occasion of the first Communion and that he/she linked both on the bracelet. This is a rarely seen situation.
Beads are Mother of Pearl, the cross is sterling Silver and M.O.P all dating from the same period estimated at the end of the 19th Century.
The cross has an exquisite and very neat design, with the sacred heart and a scripture : Souvenir de Paray
The 2 Medals are as follows :
- With the M.O.P and Sterling Cross, a Sterling Medal with the Chalice commemorating a First Communion with MG and * MAy 1988 written on the reverse.
- A sterling medal with blue enamel, also with the first communion chalice and the same writings on the reverse.
Length of the bracelet is 20 cm.
