Incredible James Abbott McNeill Whistler Etching depicting the sculptor Charles Drouet. Piece is in phenomenal condition, excellent crisp impression on laid paper. Piece is signed in the plate also butterfly lower left. Piece carries a label on the reverse from the original retailing gallery. The piece was sold as a part of the Vincent Price art collection through Sears stores in the 1960's. A fascinating experiment in bringing affordable high end art to a public. Price, having been an art dealer before a celebrity, was charged with the task of purchasing the items for sale in the collection.
