The triple moon is a time honored symbol used to represent the stages of life and wisdom; or the three faces of the Goddess: the Maiden; Mother; and Crone. It does this with the waxing and waning moons; sitting with their backs to the full moon; which in this case takes the form of an intricate pentagram. This symbol; hanging from a slender chain; supports three small brass bells that ring melodically with the slightest movement.
