Shania Twain - Come on Over (CD)
ORIGINAL 1997 CD RELEASE!!!
Used CD in EXCELLENT playing condition!!! No Skips, No Freeze ups!!! No Scratches, No Scuff Marks!!! CD and all artwork included. CD in Excellent Like New condition. The come-from-nowhere success of Shania Twain's previous album, The
Woman in Me, proved that the world was ready for a combination
of traditional instruments, girl-power themes, and dance-pop dynamics.
Whether Twain is a modern-day Dolly Parton or a country music Spice Girl
is a matter of perspective. But with her third album, she accentuates
the sing-along choruses and simple dance rhythms while downplaying the
country elements. As a pop move, it works wonderfully for her, earning
Twain a valued spot on MTV, VH-1, and pop radio. The emphasis is on fun
rather than depth, of course. But no one can accuse her of being stingy:
she and her Svengali-like producer/husband, slick-rock king Robert
"Mutt" Lange (Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, AC/DC), load down the album with
16 songs, all of them quite radio-friendly.

Shania Twain Biography
Country-tinged pop singer Shania Twain is one of the most popular
female singers ever, mostly thanks to her third album Come on Over.
That album, with approximately 40 million worldwide sales, is claimed
to be one of the ten biggest-selling albums of all time.
Shania
Twain was only 13 years old when she first appeared with her band
Longshot on CBC's Tommy Hunter Show in 1978, but performing
became her bread and butter when she had to support her brothers and
sister after their parents died in a car accident when she was only 22.
In
1991 she landed a recording contract and released her eponymous album,
which peaked at No.55 on the Billboard Country charts. By 1993 she had
met producer Mutt Lange, who offered to work on her second album. The
result was 1995's The Woman in Me which achieved greater
success when it won a Grammy for Best Country Album and crossed over
into the mainstream Billboard charts at No. 5. It went on to sell over
ten million copies.
The next album Come on Over was an
international phenomenon, lodging itself in the top half of the
Billboard 200 for almost three years, winning four Grammys and reaching
the top of the charts across Europe and the US. Most of the tracks on
the album were released as singles, including "You're Still the One",
"Man, I Feel Like a Woman" and "That Don't Impress Me Much". In 1998
Twain embarked on her first major concert tour to support the huge
success of the record.
The next album was Up! (2002),
released as a double album with three different mixes - pop, country and
Indian/Asian versions. Like its predecessor, the album was a huge hit
across the world, selling over 12 million copies.
Shania Twain's Greatest
Hits in 2004 contained three new tracks, and she is currently
working on a new album.
