The diets in this section are formulated for dogs with endocrine disease.  The disorders that we offer diets for include diabetes,  insulinoma and lipid disorders. Pets with other types of endocrine disorders can be fed other maintenance diets.

Lipid metabolism is complex and involves many organs and enzymes.  They can be a primary issue or caused by another disease process.  The diet should be low in fat and moderate in protein. After feeding this diet for 6 to 8 weeks the lipid disorder should be reevaluated. If the problem still persists, then 1g per 10lbs of fish oil should be added to the diet

 

We recommend that you see your veterinarian at least every 6 months for a regular checkup or sooner if your pet is not doing well.
